The Sword is a slashing weapon type in Dauntless.

Summary

A classic weapon that shines in close quarters. Slash and slice to build your meter, then let loose with a burst of speed. An excellent choice for severing parts.

The sword has three main components: core combos, Valour combos, and the special meter. The core combos are the most basic combos, and they are the primary source of generating Valour. Once enough Valour is obtained, Valour combos become available, which consume the built-up Valour. Landing the final hit of combos will also increase the Special meter. At full meter, the special becomes available, which generates Valour and has unique properties.

Legendaries

Facing a the final Boss in Escalation will unlock blueprints for all of its legendary weapons. These high-powered weapons aren't easy to craft, but the perks are worth the extra effort.

  Ardent Cyclone Activate at full meter to spin, dealing 70 damage constantly to nearby enemies. Grants 1 Valour every 4 seconds. Reactivate to slash in a direction, dealing 500 + (10 x number of spin hits) to the first enemy hit. Sword Mastery level 8
  Feast Activate at full meter to enter the Feast, gaining the effects of Valiant Overdrive, +25% damage and +12% lifesteal. Health is constantly drained. Dashing also grants invulnerability Available only on The Hunger.
  Avenging Overdrive Activate at full meter to enter Overdrive, gaining +20% attacks speed and causing attacks to deal +60-80 aoe damage. Reactivate to parry and riposte a Behemoth attack, dealing 800 damage and granting 1 Valour when successful (2 second cooldown) Bought from Lady Luck Store for 500 Steel Marks.
