Currencies

Currencies in Dauntless are used to purchase items from the game like armour, weapons, cosmetics (Hairstyles, Skins, Dyes), supplies, cells, items, boosts, mods and specials.

Standard Currency

Icon	Name	Use and Obtainability
	Rams	Rams are the main currency of Dauntless. They are used to buy armour, weapons, and supplies. They can be obtained by defeating behemoths, from the Hunt Pass, and opening Fountain Cores.
	Platinum	Platinum is the main currency for the In-Game Store in Dauntless. They are used to get cosmetics, boosts, supplies, and emotes. They can be obtained by using real-world currencies or by levelling up in the Hunt Pass.
	Transmog Stones	Transmog Stones are used to transform one item (weapon, armour, or lantern) and change the appearance of another item. They can be obtained from the In-Game Store or by levelling up in the Hunt Pass.
	Aetherdust	Aetherdust is used to speed up the process of fusing cells and used to craft the timeweave armour set. They can be obtained by selling your cells to The Middle Man.
	Steel Marks	Steel Marks are one of the main currencies from Lady Luck. They are used to purchase cells, mods, specials, lanterns, and weapons. They can be obtained by defeating behemoths from the Trials in normal difficulty.
	Gilded Marks	Gilded marks are one of the main currencies from Lady Luck. They are used to purchase cosmetics. They can be obtained by defeating behemoths from the Trials in dauntless difficulty.
	Patrol Keys	Patrol Keys are used to open Patrol Chests that are scattered around the Hunting Grounds. They can be obtained from Daily Login Cores or purchased from the Store.
	Combat Merits	Combat Merits are earned from opening Patrol Chests, Bounties and from leveling up the Hunt Pass. They are used to unlock nodes in the Slayer's Path.
	Heroic Merits	Heroic Merits are earned from Heroic Escalation. They are used to unlock Head Accessories in the Slayer's Path.
	Aethersparks	Aethersparks are used to reforge level 20 weapon skills, which will also produce an Aetherheart. They can be earned from opening Patrol Chests in the Hunting Grounds, Island Events, opening Daily Login Cores, or purchased from the Store.
	Aetherhearts	Aetherhearts are used to power surge weapons and armour. They are obtained by getting a weapon to level 20, then resetting it at the Sparkforge, at a cost of 100 Aethersparks or using 200 Aethersparks without resetting a weapon.
	Bounty Tokens	Used to obtain Bounties. Bounty Tokens can be obtained from the daily coin flip, Patrol Chests or purchased in the Store. As of patch 1.9.0, Bounty Tokens will no longer reset at the end of a Hunt Pass.
	Chrono-Stones	4 Chrono-Stones are used to begin the Melodic Convergence event on the Paradox Breaks and fight Alyra. They are obtained by slaying behemoths on the Paradox Breaks as well as Elder or Primal Behemoths.
	Crest	Earned from the Gauntlet gamemode. Can be traded in for Trackers, Cells and Consumables in the Research Lab.
	Crumbling Crest	Upon the end of the Gauntlet season all remaining Crests will be converted into Crumbling Crests. Can be spent in the Last Chance! tab in the Research Lab.

Seasonal Currency

Seasonal currency was introduced with the introduction of the Reward Cache during the Infinite Radiance season (patch 1.6.0 on 8 April 2021). Each seasonal currency can be obtained and used during the season in which it was released (seasons span over two Hunt Passes).

Seasonal currency can be exchanged in the Reward Cache for Armour Skins, Weapon Skins, Emotes, Titles, Dyes and purchasing other currencies/resources. This currency is valid only till the end of the season and will not carry over/be converted into the next seasonal currency.

Seasonal currency can be obtained via daily challenges as well as weekly challenges. They are also a guaranteed reward for each prestige level on a Hunt Pass. They can also be obtained as rewards at different Hunt Pass levels or as part of events.

Legacy Currency

Icon	Name	Use and Obtainability
	Fragments of Future Times	Fragments of Future Times were earned by hunting Primal and Elder behemoths while using the Future Factional Path and could be spent in that tree. The currency was usable only for the duration of the Infinite Radiance season duration.
	Fragments of Times Past	Fragments of Times Past were earned by hunting Primal and Elder behemoths while using the Past Factional Path and could be spent in that tree. The currency was usable only for the duration of the Infinite Radiance season duration.
	Ace Chips	Ace Chips were used to expedite the fusion of cells in The Middleman's shop. Ace Chips have been removed, and their function is now fulfilled by Aetherdust. They could be obtained as Hunt Pass rewards, purchasing them in the Store or from Daily Login Cores.
	Patrol Chest	Patrol Chests were used to gain additional orbs (+10 orbs) from Patrols. You gained 2 per day, stacking up to a total of 6, and could receive additional patrol chests from Daily Login Cores or by purchasing them in the Store.
	Exploration Merits	Exploration Merits were used to unlock exploration-related nodes in the Slayer's Path. Exploration Merits have been merged with Combat Merits as part of the Currency Merge and Purge. They could be earned from opening chests in the Hunting Grounds, Daily Login Cores and as Hunt Pass rewards.
